Terms of service
Version 1.0 · updated September 6, 2026
What you agree to when you use cegeta, and what we owe you in return.
⚠️ This text describes what the product actually does. Its legal wording is being reviewed by counsel before launch — the facts below are accurate, the drafting is not final.
The service
cegeta lets you attach a QR code to things you own, record what you know about them, and be reached anonymously if one is found. Creating an account is free and stays free.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password safe. We never ask for it, and we cannot read it — it is stored hashed. You can delete your account at any time; your items and files go with it.
What you put in
Your items, photos and documents remain yours. We do not use them to train anything, we do not sell them, and we do not show them to anyone you have not chosen. You must not use cegeta to store content you have no right to hold.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running, and in particular the public scan pages: a lost item must not stop being findable because we are deploying. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we will tell you about planned interruptions.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend an account that abuses the relay messaging or stores unlawful content; we will say why, and you can respond.
Governing law
Luxembourg law applies. ⚠️ The exact jurisdiction clause is being drafted by counsel.
